July 4th Weekend

Years we have babies normally consume all of our vacation time and extra monetary resources so no vacation this year. Another big time sink for me is school and for James is our house. We were having issues with water collecting at the base of the house and soaking into the bottom layers of wood. Poor James spent his July 4th holiday (plus several days of vacation from work) to remove the rotten wood, replace it, add some more insulation and seal it against water. He also had to add some concrete to angle the slab footing so water runs off of it instead of sitting there like it has been doing since the house was built 8 years ago. Not fun and not cheap. The joys of adulthood and home ownership:) In any event, the kids and I have been having fun. As you can see, Ali can "swim" around on the floor and has started blowing raspberries (Jake calls them blueberries). She is quite mobile and can roll/scoot to basically anywhere she wants.

Jake really dotes on Ali and she loves Jake's attention.

I put Mari in time-out (at our house that means she has to sit in the front hall) and she pulled down all my shoes and played with them before falling asleep. All of this before her three minutes were up!
This picture is just so typically Mari, I couldn't resist posting it.
