Mari was fussing at me for being on the other side of the door and then she decided she would just chew on the door instead. It is a new house (so no lead paint) but still, we don't normally encourage this practice. She does this quite a bit and even though James painted the entire door last spring, she has bitten pieces off. In some ways small children and dogs are very similar. At least Mari will eventually grow out of this habit (I hope).
