Alice Anne Carr "Baby Ali" finally made her appearance following an emergency c-section at 6:30 A.M. Sunday morning, February 28th. She was 20 inches long and 7lbs 10.2 oz. She was at least one week late, but possibly a few days more than we thought. We are so glad she is here and that she is safe. It was very a terrible deja vu experience (Jake was an emergency c-section after a long natural labor) and luckily it ended better than his did. I am fine, she is fine. A few hours of observation for her and then they released her to room in with us as Mari was allowed to do (no week in the NICU like Jake). I will write about it all later. I am still exhausted after 23 hours of labor and the surprise surgery, but am recovering well enough to be released early. We got home a few hours ago. Jake and Mari check her out just minutes after I get to meet her for the first time as well.
James and I are happy our family is now complete! It feels strange to have not known her before as she is fitting in so well already.
So much hair! She looks like a smaller version of Mari. Her hair is also longer, but then again she had three more weeks to grow it as Mari was two weeks early and Ali was at least a week late.
